Three men who were reportedly caught in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth selling clothes stolen from a store in Kingston were denied bail.

The accused, Zeon Campbell, and Devon Chambers and Sheldon Chambers, were remanded on a charge of receiving stolen property when they appeared in court last Tuesday.

The men were denied bail after the liaison officer told the court that the police was opposing bail specifically in the case of Campbell, whom they said had featured in several break-ins.

The court heard that between May and June the complainant’s store on Orange Street in downtown Kingston was broken into and $1.2 million worth of goods were stolen.

Further reports are that a customer of the complainant saw his clothes being sold in Santa Cruz and informed the complainant who then went and identified the clothes by the tags and brands, as belonging to him, and summoned the police.

The three accused men who were selling the clothes were arrested.

The magistrate, however, asked the prosecution to find out what method was used to identify the clothes.

The men are to return to court on October 22.
