TIVOLI ENQUIRY: JDF major describes Chestnut Lane as ‘armoury shop’
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A major in the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) today described Chestnut Lane in downtown Kingston as an armoury shop due to the wide range of weaponry found there during the search phase of the May 2010 Tivoli operations.
Major Kevron Henry testified that a wide variety of AK47 versions made in China, Korea and Russia, we’re found on Chestnut Lane.
He said grenades, including smoke grenades, police ballistic vests, masks and various calibres of ammunitions were also found on the premises.
The major also said that in Denham Town, explosives were found around the community and that numerous streets were barricaded.
