Redman confirmed as PNP candidate for St Elizabeth NE
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Delegates today confirmed Santa Cruz businessman Evon Redman as the People’s National Party (PNP) standard-bearer in the St Elizabeth North Eastern constituency for upcoming parliamentary elections.
Redman faced 467 delegates in a ratification exercise at the Santa Cruz Primary School.
He received 339 votes of confirmation, while 127 voted against him. One vote was spoilt. More than 900 delegates were eligible to vote.
Voting began at 10:00 am and ended at 2:00 pm.
Redman, who formally applied to challenge Member of Parliament Raymond Pryce in April for the right to be the PNP representative in St Elizabeth NE, was left as the only applicant when Pryce withdrew from the contest last week
