Bacterial infection forces closure of Portmore school
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Education is advising parents and guardians that the Bridgeport Infant School will be closed on Monday on the advice of the Ministry of Health.
Parents are being asked to keep their children at home and not to send them to nurseries and day-care centres.
The closure of the Bridgeport Infant School is to allow for sanitisation activities following the discovery of a bacterial infection at the school by the St Catherine Public Health Department last Friday.
The Ministry of Education said it will issue updates to the public on developments at the school and the date when the institution will be reopened.
