Wolmer’s Boys snatched a dramatic win within the six minutes of their incomplete game against Vauxhall High, while Charlie Smith High clipped Calabar High 2-1 and Jonathan Grant edged Excelsior 1-0 in ISSA/Flow Manning Cup action at the Constant Spring field yesterday.

The Wolmer’s/Vauxhall game was called off on Monday due to a waterlogged field caused by persistent rain with the scores locked at 1-1 with six minutes of play remaining.

Both teams went on the offensive for that six minutes and it was Wolmer’s who secured the victory courtesy of a Stewart Payne goal in the 87th minute for a 2-1 win.

Wolmer’s now lead Group H with three points, two ahead of defending champions Jamaica College and Holy Trinity High, who have one point each following their 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Charlie Smith High and Jonathan Grant took charge of Group K on three points following their victories over the pointless Calabar High and Excelsior.

Romaine Rollins opened the scoring for Calabar with a ferocious shot in the 30th minute before a double-strike from captain Shaquille Notice propelled Charlie Smith to a deserved come-from-behind victory. Notice headed home the equalising goal on the stroke of half-time before converting an 82nd-minute penalty to seal the win.

Excelsior paid the price for their profligacy in front of goal, missing three one-and-one chances, but failed to beat the goalkeeper.

Tyrik Sutherland, Roshod Nembhard and Christopher Thorpe all were guilty and Jonathan Grant made them pay as Tyron Small fired home in the 41st minute for victory.

Even with time running out, Romario Tomlinson missed a sitter in the 90th minute for Excelsior, bringing an end to a horrible offensive display by the Mountain View Avenue-based school.
