Gun, ammo seized in Westmoreland; 2 men arrested
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — An illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition were seized by the police on Cove Road, in the parish early this morning.
Reports from the Bethel Town police are that about 12:10 am, lawmen were conducting Vehicular Check Point Operations in the area when a motorcycle with a pillion was stopped and searched. The search revealed one 9mm Sig Sauer pistol and eleven 9mm rounds.
Two men were taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
Their identities are, however, being withheld pending further investigations.
