KINGSTON, Jamaica — Opposition leader, Andrew Holness, has appealed to uncommitted voters to give their support to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), in the next general election.

“Tonight, I make an appeal to those people who feel that government can’t work for them. I make an appeal to those people who say Government won’t make a difference in their lives. I make an appeal to people who say I am tired of voting, I have voted so many times and nothing has happened.

“I make an appeal tonight to the uncommitted voters that if you stay away from the polls, all you will be doing is allowing those people who are not working in your interest, those people who are not making decision in your interest, to continue in power,” he told Sunday night’s JLP mass rally in May Pen, Clarendon.

“Now is the time. Now is the opportunity. Now is the cross roads of decision, where you can make a decision on the direction of your country. So tonight, I appeal to the uncommitted come out on election day and cast you vote for change,” he said.

Holness told the crowd that he had a sense, as he campaigns around Jamaica, that there is a changing mood in the country.

“I get a sense, as I go around, that people genuinely want to see a change, but they want to see what they are going to vote for. And that change is gaining momentum, it is gathering force and I want to tell you, Labourites, it is unstoppable,” he said.

He said that whenever the prime minister decides to “fly the gate” the JLP is ready, and will be “strides in front of the PNP”.
