ON Sunday night, model agency Pulse selected 25 model hopefuls to compete for its Million-Dollar-Girl prize.

The girls, drawn from both the fashion model segment and the petite models, will compete for the cash prize on a TV reality show which will begin airing later this year.

Sunday’s show staged at the Pulse Centre in New Kingston saw scores of model hopefuls strut their stuff in a bid to make the final cut and vie for a chance at the main prize. By the end of a night, which featured swimwear and fashion presentations, 13 leggy ladies from the fashion model section were teamed with 12 petites to form the cohort for the upcoming show.

Of the 13 fashion model girls, Abigail Dillion was named Best in Swimsuit, while Danecia Clarke took the Best on the Runway Award. In the petite category, Celine Deidrick was named Best in Swimsuit, while the Best on the Runway Award went to Christina Robinson.

The 25 girls are hoping to follow in the footsteps of the 2015 Million-Dollar Girl Alicia Burke, who emerged winner at the end of the TV reality series earlier this year. Burke is currently signed to Models 1 in the United Kingdom and was scheduled to leave the island on Monday for London, to take up assignments for that agency.

The males were not left out of the presentation. Twenty-one-year-old Oshane Tucker was named Male Face of the Caribbean. He won himself $100,000 and a contract with Pulse. Tucker edged out Jamar Harding, who placed second, and Alex Moulton who was third.

In the full-figure category, there were only two contestants — Angel Harrison and Sudan Fairley. Pulse Chairman Kingsley Copper did not name a winner, but announced that he would be working with both girls to develop their careers.
