Buzz Nightmare faces Overnight Allowance company
The talented but apparently problematic Buzz Nightmare takes on Overnight Allowance for the first time as he goes in search of win number four in what is the highlight event of the 10-race card at Caymanas Park today.
The Overnight Allowance call will open the card at approximately 12:30 pm and a field of seven will come calling for the major share of the $780,000 purse.
Buzz Nightmare, the dashing three-year-old son of Into Mischief/Queen of Battle seems to have settled into his racing strides and reeled off three comfortable, consecutive wins against fellow promising three-year-olds in his last three races. The manner of his executions probably, no doubt, prompted his astute trainer Philip Feanny to step up Buzz Nightmare to the Overnight Allowance category and place him among a group of horses that he should not fail to go on and open his account at the level forthwith.
The still capable Borderline, Hologram Shadow, Rum Punch and Sir South are among a group that can add intrigue to the call going 1,000 metres round. This select group of experienced horses are no pushover at the distance, and even at this late stage of their racing life, with Buzz Nightmare rising and they noticeably fading, the buzz of the night could be their worst nightmare.
Sir South is in good nick at present and does retain some of his earlier pep, but of late, at age seven, seems to enjoy it more when stretched out, and with the claiming apprentice Natalie Burger up should not prove to be any real threat.
