Police launch manhunt for med student’s killer
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Police say they have launched a manhunt for the criminals responsible for last night’s brutal attack on a medical student from the University of Technology.
“Police are at this time doing everything in their power to bring person or persons responsible for this attack to justice,” one officer from St Andrew Central said.
The lawmen say they are gathering information and asking members of the public to assist the authorities.
Police reports are that Walters and another female student were walking along Hope Boulevard when men in a motorcar demanded that the two hand over their handbags.
Walters allegedly ran off and one of the men exited the motor vehicle then shot her. The other student, who had reportedly complied was unharmed.
