KINGSTON, Jamaica – A senior police officer testified today that the Central Police Station ‎was shot up on May 25, 2010, a day after the operation to apprehend Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke started.

Superintendent Gladys Brown Ellis ‎testified before the Tivoli Enquiry that police officers had to hit the ground for cover as brazen gunmen loyal to Coke attacked the station in downtown Kingston.

By this time, gunmen had already attacked the Darling Street Police ‎and the Hanna Town Police Station and had caused damage to the Denham Town Police Station.

‎Brown Ellis testified that she was forced to divert to Central Police Station after heavy gunfire prevented her from proceeding to the KPH where she and other cops were heading to process 40 bodies recovered from the area of operation.

She said she wasn’t able to make it to KPH until the following day, where she was directed to Madden’s funeral home where the bodies to be processed were being kept.
