WEATHER UPDATE: Isolated showers, thunderstorms expected this afternoon
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica says there is a high pressure ridge over the island.
The ridge, the Met Service said, is weak and is likely to shift northward on Monday, when a tropical wave is expected to move in the vicinity of Jamaica.
As a result, morning conditions are expected to be generally fair while this afternoon, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected over inland areas and western parishes. Windy conditions are expected over southeast parishes.
Tonight should be partly cloudy.
Regionally, there is a tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean which should bring cloudy conditions.
