128 firearms seized in Get the Guns campaign
KINGSTON, Jamaica —The Police High Command is reporting that a total of 128 firearms have been seized since the start of Get The Guns campaign.
“Eight of the firearms were seized last week,” the police told OBSERVER ONLINE Wednesday.
In addition to guns seized, a total of 1,501 rounds of assorted rounds ammunition were also confiscated.
The Get the Guns campaign was officially launched in September this year.
Senior members of the JCF said that under the campaign, members of the public who are able to provide vital information that leads to confiscation of deadly weapons will be rewarded.
Police officials have not disclosed amount of money offered, saying only that rewards will be similar to that offered by Crime Stop.
