Mother of 16-y-o implicated in shooting incident charged
A woman has found herself in trouble with the law after her 16-year-old son was arrested and charged with shooting with intent and burglary.
Doreen Desgoute of Riverton City in Kingston was arrested and charged on November 2 with cruelty to a child for failing to provide care and protection for her son.
The juvenile, who police alleged has been involved in a number of criminal activities in his community, was arrested and charged following a break-in and shooting incident in the community on November 2.
Desgoute, when she was taken into custody and cautioned, allegedly told the police, “Officer, mi cyaan control him. Officer, mi nuh know wha fi do.”
However, on Wednesday, when she appeared in court, she pleaded not guilty before Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey and her bail was extended for her to go to trial on January 25 next year.
