Jamaica’s Nicholas Gore crashed out of the ATP Kingston 2 Challenge on Sunday, losing 0-6, 1-6 to seventh-seeded Canadian Dan Martin at the Liguanea Club.

The 25-year-old Gore could only manage to win one game, losing in one hour and 26 seconds to Martin who is ranked 636 in the world and who reached a career-high ranking of 378.

Gore was the only Jamaican in action on Sunday.

On Monday evening, John Chin will be in action against American junior player Benjamin Willwerth with a good chance of earning a win and some points.

With Frenchmen Valentin Royer winning the Kingston One tournament on Saturday, American Kaylan Bigun is favoured to win Kingston Two, being the top-ranked player.

Bigun started well by dispatching Brazilian Luca DaSilva 6-1, 6-4 in just over one hour of play on Centre Court.

The 20-year-old, ranked 548 in the world, threw down eight aces and won 88 per cent of his first serves compared to 60 per cent by Da Silva who is ranked 820 in the world.

On Court 1, number two seed Aidan Kim defeated Ronit Karki 6-0, 6-3 in the clash of the Americans and number four seed Bruno Kuzuhara of the USA turned back Kody Pearson of Australia 6-1, 6-4.

The Americans continued their good showing as number six seed Aidan Mayo dismissed Brazilian Goncalves Ceolin 6-3, 6-2 and number eight seed Joshua Sheehy defeated the Brazilian Luis Britto, who lost the first set 2-6 before retiring hurt.

Third-ranked Gonzalez Fernandez of Spain easily dispatched Calum Puttergill of Australia 6-4, 6-2 while American 10th seed Matt Kuhar turned back the challenge of Siddhant Banthia of India 6-1, 7-6.

Keshav Chopra of the USA beat Juan Jose Bianchi of Venezuela 6-2, 7-5 and Australian 12th seed Thomas Fancutt defeated Enmanuel Munoz of the Dominican Republic 6-4, 6-2.
