Tuff Gang hosts live concert
SING TING: Kgn Kickin, a lifestyle event promoted by roots singer ASADeNAKI Wailer and his Tuff Gang band, is scheduled for the Ashanti Vegetarian Restaurant tomorrow.
While it culminates with a live concert with acts like Exile Di Brave and Vanessa Lee, Wailer told the Jamaica Observer that ‘Sing Ting’ has lifestyle and sports components.
“The show focuses on the reggae lover and tries to incorporate things he/she will gravitate to…football, food, live and recorded music to dance the night away,” he said.
A four-a-side football competition kicks things off at 4:30, followed by demonstrations on how to develop ‘backyard farming’.
“We believe in a balanced, healthy, self-sufficient lifestyle. As food is medicine, we encourage farming/planting through our #DWEAT Initiative which basically encourages urban backyard/container farming,” said Wailer
In August, ASADeNAKI and Tuff Gang launched their first EP, Freedom Seeds. Lead singer/percussionist ASADeNAKI is the son of reggae great Bunny Wailer; Yazer Root, chanter and bass player, and pianist Narry Berry are the members of Tuff Gang.
Their latest single is Go Getta, produced by Digital B Records.
