KINGSTON, Jamaica — Member of Parliament for St Andrew East Rural and State minister of tourism and entertainment, Damion Crawford, is expected to leave the island today for St Vincent and the Grenadines, where he is expected to speak at the governing United Labour Party’s (ULP) Youth Rally.

The ULP invited Crawford to speak at their final youth rally on Saturday, ahead of their general election which is set for December 9.

The ULP, led by Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, secured a third term in 2010 after winning eight of 15 seats. Crawford was reportedly invited to St Vincent and the Grenadines in an effort to mobilise the country’s youth and to help secure a win for the ULP.

The nationally popular MP received the invitation on the merit of his improving the literacy average in his constituency under the 3-2-1 Education Plan; implementing various training programmes for hundreds of constituents with the help of HEART Trust/NTA, the multinational company Diageo, and premium catering and bar services company, Bars to Go Group of Companies.

He is expected to return to the island on Sunday.
