MONTEGO BAY, St James – Two more places in the second round of the St James Football Association’s Captain’s Bakery and Grill Knockout will be played this afternoon when the first round of the competition continues with two games, both set to start at 3:00 pm.

Fire House will take on Salt Spring Roses at the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) field starting at 3:00 pm, while Norwood Strikers and Montego Bay United Under – 21 will face off at Albion.

The winners will join Faulkland FC and Melbourne FC, both winners earlier this week.

In Monday’s opening game at Jarrett Park, Faulkland FC, last season’s Division One champions, beat Club Stars 2-0 with second-half goals from Jelani Nicholson and substitute Taveak McNeil.

Club Stars ended the game with 10 players after Devroy Leslie was sent off in the 39th minute of play.

On Tuesday, Trevon Allen in the 58th minute and Kamal Smith in the 69th minute scored for Melbourne FC to beat Lilliput Rovers 2-0 and take their place in the second round draw as well.

The game between Tomorrow’s People and Somerton was postponed.

Two more games are scheduled to be played on Friday afternoon– Catherine Hall will play Seba FC at UDC field, while Copperwood will tackle Seaview FC at Albion.

Twenty-six teams led by Red Stripe Premier League club Montego Bay United qualified to take part in the competition that will be played over five rounds with 10 games scheduled in the first round.

Relegated Western Confederation Super League team, Tomorrow’s People SC, will join 10 St James FA Senior League teams as well as nine Division One teams in the first round.

Six teams, Montego Bay United FC, Granville FC, Wadadah FC, Montego Boys & Girls Club FC, Reggae Youths FC and Violet Kickers, will get first round byes, and they will join the 10 winners from the first-round for action in the second round.

The third round will see eight teams, winners from the second round with the winners advancing to the semi-finals set for late January.
