Police seek to identify elderly woman found wandering
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The police on Saturday issued a public appeal for people to contact them if they recognise an elderly woman who was found wandering in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Friday.
According to a news release from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit, the elderly woman gave her name as ‘Editha Douglas’ and said she is from a Molynes Road address in Kingston.
The woman is of dark complexion, medium build and is about five-foot-three-inch tall.
Reports from the Spanish Town police are that lawmen found her wandering in the town centre about 7:30 pm.
According to the CCU release, it is suspected that she might have Alzheimer’s and it is not known if the information she has provided is credible.
The woman was dressed in a multi-coloured blouse and khaki pants when she was found.
“Anyone who can assist the police in identifying this woman or contacting her family members is being asked to contact the Spanish Town police at 984-2305, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station,” the release said.
