Pensioners can cash vouchers early at post offices
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has made arrangements at post offices islandwide for the early encashment of pension vouchers under the National Insurance Scheme (NIS).
According to a news release from the ministry Friday, pension vouchers payable during the week of Wednesday, December 30, 2015 to Friday, January 1, 2015 may be cashed as of Monday, December 21, 2015.
Pensioners should note, however, that the National Commercial Bank (NCB) will only cash vouchers on or after the date on which they are payable, the ministry said.
