It has been a rather eventful week in the footballing world. If you missed it , don’t worry we’ll tell you what has become of Mourinho, the next Premier League coach rumoured to leave, the latest on the 2016 Copa America and so much more.

1. Arguably the biggest football news this week is that Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho has been sacked. From then there have been loads of rumours surrounding the fate of both Mourinho and Chelsea. Guus Hiddink is the new boss at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho is said to want to be coach of Manchester United. He is so serious about going to Old Trafford that he reportedly turned down a job offer at Roma.

2. Mourinho’s dream might become a reality as cries for the dismissal of Louis Van Gaal have gotten louder. Manchester United’s shocking elimination from Champions League coupled with their recent lacklustre performances might just cost LVG his job. Reports have even said that LVG expressed the fact that he is “worried” about his job, especially after Man U’s defeat this weekend.(More on Man U’s defeat in our Euro Round-up) If the bosses at Man Utd decide to sack him, Mourinho may be ready to take over.

3. Carlo Ancelotti  reportedly contacted Real Madrid about a possible call back. However after hearing they are not interested he took up the job offer from Bayern Munich. It is said that Ancelotti will be the new boss at Bayern Munich when Pep Guardiola’s contract expires. Bayern made the announcement earlier today.

4. The 2016 Centennial Copa America has picked its group leaders and they are as follows:

Group A-USA

Group B-Brazil

Group C-Mexico

Group D-Argentina.

In case you didn’t know, the 2016 Centennial Copa America is the 100th edition of the world’s longest running football tournament; the Copa America. This special edition will be held in the United States. 

5. Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly keen to sign Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema. Apparently Benzema made it known he was willing to leave Madrid next month. However, is Real Madrid ready to release him?
