East scores brace as Reggae Boyz beat 10-man El Salvador
Jamaica returned to winning ways in the Concacaf Nations League on Friday as Javon East scored both goals in the Reggae Boyz’ 2-0 victory over host El Salvador.
El Salvador were reduced to 10 men in the 20th minute after Rudy Clavel was shown a straight red card for a challenge on East.
From that point onwards, the Boyz piled on the pressure on the Central Americans and were rewarded in the 39th minute when East volleyed home from an excellent cross by Miguel Freckleton.
East added to his tally in the 64th minute with a brilliant one-time shot after being found by substitute Jahmarie Nolan.
With the win, Jamaica sit at second place in Group B with six points, just a point behind leaders Suriname.
