THE Jamaica Classic Car Club (JCCC) hosted a Christmas dinner for 18 golden agers of Port Royal in Kingston on December 16, as part of their charitable deed for the holiday season.

“They look forward to it every year,” Shane Angus, JCCC president, told Auto.

The annual dinner — sponsored this year by the club’s insurance provider British Caribbean Insurance Company Limited (BCIC) — featured an extensive dinner menu of Jamaican traditional items all catered for their guests.

“We treated 18 people, fourteen at the event and sent food to another four that couldn’t make it out of their homes,” said Angus.

The JCCC plans to expand on their annual dinner in 2016.

“The club wants to increase its charitable contributions to the community for next year, so we’re looking at some sort of school project.”

They are expected to hold their first meet of the year on Sunday at Hope Gardens, St Andrew. The event is free and all are invited.

“This is just to set the agenda for 2016,” Shane Angus – JCCC president, told Auto.

Angus was re-elected president last month, along with Jason Lawson and Naresh Potopsingh as first- and second-vice presidents, respectively. He hopes to continue to build on the progress the club experienced in 2015. As well as the cars, Angus will use the meet to announce initiatives, update and welcome new members.

“One of the things we plan to discuss is our insurance partnership with British Caribbean Insurance Company Limited (BCIC) to assist with members seeking to get their classics roadworthy,” he explained.
