Cops arrest man linked to job scam
KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) – A 48-year-old man has been arrested by the police for collecting thousands of dollars from people under the guise that he could provide jobs for them in Trinidad and Tobago.
Renal Allen, who is from St Elizabeth, was arrested last Friday.
Allen reportedly fled Jamaica to the Cayman Islands in 2013, collected up to J$400,000 from people saying he could find jobs in the twin island republic.
When he returned to Jamaica last Friday, he was held by the police and charged with obtaining money by means of false pretence.
The police have called on people who paid money to Allen to contact them.
