Woman held with illegal gun
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Police in St James yesterday charged a 26-year-old woman following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition on the Coral Gardens main road in the parish.
She is Tesia Jenkins, otherwise called ‘Coolie and Indian’, of Bounty Hall, Trelawny.
Reports from the Coral Gardens Police are that about 4:35 pm, officers were conducting a vehicular check point operation along the roadway, when the driver of a taxi with four passengers onboard was signalled to stop. He complied and the vehicle along with its occupants was searched.
Jenkins was found with one Smith and Wesson .40 pistol, a magazine containing two 9mm rounds of ammunition and five .40 rounds of ammunition in a bag. She was arrested.
Investigations continue.
