Westmoreland escapee shot dead
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A prison escapee in Westmorland was shot dead in Caanan Mountain, Little London in the parish on Thursday.
He is 21-year-old Romaine Esson, otherwise called ‘School Boy’, of Dalling Street, Savanna-la-Mar.
Reports from the Little London Police are that about 1:30 p.m., resident heard explosion and alerted them. On their arrival, Esson was seen lying in a yard with a gunshot wound. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
Esson, who was charged with murder, escaped police custody from the Savanna-la-Mar Police lock-up in June 2015.
Investigations continue.
