KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Under-17 Reggae Girlz Head Coach Lorne Donaldson remained defiant as Jamaica was drawn alongside some of the region’s football heavyweights for the CONCACAF Championship in Grenada in March

Jamaica, United States, Costa Rica and defending champions Mexico are pitted in Group B.

“[They are] very good teams, but we have to trust our players and support staff to perform at a high level and get positive results,” Donaldson, who attended Thursday’s draw in Grenada, told OBSERVER ONLINE.

“All things are possible if you push yourself to the limit,” he added.

Group A consists of Grenada, Canada, Haiti and Guatemala.

The top two countries from each group are to progress to the semi-finals. The three best-placed finishers at the tournament will advance to the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan later this year.

United States, Mexico and Canada are widely regarded as the three best CONCACAF teams across the different age groups.

Jamaica are Caribbean Football Union champions after defeating Haiti in the final in Puerto Rico last year.
