After more than 15 years in the music industry, Guidance is preparing to release his first album.

The 14-track set is produced by Phree Music Records. Girlfriend Yard, the first single from the album, has been released with a music video.

The follow-up song, (People Have) Problems Everyday, is expected to be out soon.

These are busy times for Guidance (real name Donovan Walker) who is from Portmore.

“I feel like I am always either entering or exiting a studio, but I am certainly not complaining,” he said, adding: “Even though albums/CDs are not selling, it is still hugely important as an artiste to define your career by releasing albums at intervals. My first album has been a long time coming, but you know what the wise man says, ‘nothing happens before the right time’.”

Interestingly, Girlfriend Yard was mastered at London’s famous Metropolis Studio by John Davis who has worked with legendary rock bands Led Zeppelin and U2.

Planning Again, done with Etana, is another song expected to be on the upcoming album.
