JPS alerts customers regarding fraudulent emails
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica Public Service (JPS) is advising customers to be on the alert for fraudulent emails with the message ‘Service Suspension Notice’ in the subject line.
According to the JPS, the fake emails are originating from a ‘calljps@jpsco.com’ account and indicate that payments are outstanding and that service will be suspended.
Customers are being advised that JPS does not issue disconnection notices by email. People in receipt of such emails, should delete them immediately, the JPS urged in a reslease Friday.
Customers are also advised not to share their JPS account information or any other private data, with suspicious email accounts.
