St Catherine mechanic charged with fraud
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Police assigned to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) charged a mechanic for fraudulent conversion on Wednesday.
Charged is 49-year-old Adolph Allen of 3 West, Greater Portmore in St Catherine.
Reports are that between September and October 2014, Allen was paid C$33,170.29 by the complainant in order to purchase two motor vehicles to be operated as taxis. He purchased the vehicles, registered them in his name, operated them as taxis but refused to hand over the money earned from his operations to the complainant. A report was subsequently made to the Fraud Squad and following investigations Allen was charged.
He is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 15.
