No local team will be going to Pan Am Championships, says JBA boss
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica Badminton Association (JBA) president, David Thomas, says that there will be no Jamaican team going to the 2016 Pan American Team Continental Championships scheduled for Mexico from February 15-21.
According to Thomas the Jamaican team participation was cancelled due to inadequate preparation.
“Unfortunately we won’t have a team going to the Pan Am championship this year. This is a tournament that we always do well at, and we were looking forward to it. But the team is short of preparation and the players are not quite ready, hence we have to cancel the trip,” Thomas said.
“The tournament itself has come up a bit too early for us, hence very little time for the players to train,” he added.
