Scorpions’ Bennett says catching PCL leaders possible
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica Scorpions Head Coach Junior Bennett has not ruled out the possibility of catching up to runaway leaders Guyana Jaguars in the regional Professional Cricket League (PCL) four-day tournament.
After five matches, the Jaguars lead the six-team table with 85 points, ahead of Barbados Pride, who have 63.
The Scorpions, who are third with 53 points, take on last-placed Leeward Islands Hurricanes (13) in an away fixture, starting on Friday.
“Well it’s going to come straight down to how we execute in the second half of the competition,” Bennett told OBSERVER ONLINE.
“It’s possible to catch them, it’s possible, but they had a very good first round, so we have to also have a very good second round,” he said.
The PCL is resuming after taking a break in December to facilitate the staging of the Regional Super50 competition.
