New ‘nurse’ on the block
SINGER Mye Laurell has released a cover of the Gregory Isaacs classic Night Nurse. It is produced by Delroy ‘Fatta’ Pottinger.
Laurell said she decided to update the song out of respect for Isaacs, who died in 2010, and the fact that she was a Nurse.
“I am a fan of Gregory Isaacs, so that was why I did a cover of Night Nurse. It’s a great song that I’ve always admired,” she explained.
Mye Laurell (real name Laurell Nurse) began singing professionally eight years ago after winning Best Female Singer at the New Jersey Reggae Awards the previous year.
The first song she recorded was Wanting You which featured deejay Delly Ranx. Since then, she has done songs for Board House Records, OO7 Records, Fleximus Prime, and Ed Robinson.
Love Mi Man Bad, Move, OMG and Be Stronger are some of her other early songs.
