It has been an amazing journey getting to the 5-year mark. It’s surprising when you check the event statistics. Many events seldom pass year three.

What started out as Jamaica’s Women Expo five years ago, INTUIT Concepts was transformed quite by accident when a sponsor suggested that if we did a wedding expo instead, they would comp us the venue. Eager to prove and with an encouraging waiver of a two million dollar price tag, Wedding Spectacular was born.

It truly is an amazing story of how two inexperienced bachelors somehow pulled off and started what would become Jamaica’s largest one-day Bridal Expo and Show. In 2013, Michelle Cotterell joined the team and brought that missing element that only a female could understand and deliver to the table. After all, there’s no way two unmarried men would ever understand what women have been dreaming about their entire lives.

There’s a certain level of pride that comes after you hear what was once a concept is now being referred to as an annual calendar event. The excitement you get when a sponsor or an exhibitor calls to confirm six months in advance to book their spot for next year’s event never gets old. Bridal Shows and Expos are not like parties, you don’t have repeat patrons – after all, a bride only gets married once. Repeat business for a bridal show is basically a recommitment of sponsors, exhibitors and media partners.

With every event there must be growth and evolution of the brand. This year Wedding Spectacular launched Kingston’s first Bridal Tour, which was an amazing success and will be a feature going forward.
