Schoolboy Jordan Foote dies
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Holy Trinity High footballer Jordan Foote, whose leg was amputated in December as he battled bone cancer, has died.
His coach Devon Anderson confirmed that Foote died about 10:00 this morning.
Foote, 18, was diagnosed with cancer in his knee prior to the start of the Manning Cup and missed the entire 2015 season.
The talented midfielder reportedly picked up the injury while playing in the pre-season STETHS Cup football tournament in St Elizabeth, and it was later discovered that he had bone cancer.
Several organisations including schoolboy football sponsor Flow, the Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA), Justbet and many others donated funds toward assisting Foote with his medical expenses.
Foote played an integral part in Holy Trinity’s success in the Flow Super Cup in 2014 where they reached the final and lost to Jamaica College.
Anderson told OBSERVER ONLINE Saturday that Foote also played for Santos Football Club in the KSAFA Super League as well as Santos’ Under-20 team last year.
