Handcart man chopped to death in MoBay

ST JAMES, Jamaica – A handcart man, 46-year-old Devon Segree, was chopped to death yesterday afternoon in Montego Bay, St James.

Reports from the police are that at about 2:40 pm, Segree had a dispute with another handcart operator, who allegedly used a machete to chop him in the back of his head.

He was assisted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Segree’s attacker fled the scene; however, the machete that was used was recovered.

The police are investigating.
