Three injured as truck overturns in Trelawny
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — The driver of a goods truck and his two passengers were rushed to hospital for treatment of injuries they sustained when the vehicle overturned along the roadway in Trelawny this morning.
Reports are that about 6:00am, the truck, which was loaded with food items, overturned along the Carey Park main road after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle, had to be cut out by members of the Falmouth division of the Jamaica Fire Brigade. He and his two sidemen, who were also hurt, were taken to the Falmouth Hospital. His condition is considered to be serious but stable, while the sidemen were reportedly treated for minor injuries.
In the meantime, shortly after the crash, the police worked to maintain a smooth flow of early morning traffic as several motorists parked along the roadway to get a view of the extensively damaged truck which ran off the road.
The Trelawny police are investigating.
