Youth State Minister Green to work closely with CDA
KINGSTON, Jamaica (JIS) – State Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Floyd Green, says he will be working closely with the management and staff of the Child Development Agency (CDA), to ensure its continued efficiency.
Addressing staff of the agency at its annual general meeting, held at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College, yesterday.
Green said he, along with Portfolio Minister, Senator Ruel Reid, represents the staff members “first and foremost,” and pledged support of the agency’s programmes and projects.
“We want you to know that the Ministers take your well-being seriously. We want you to be okay, so you can be effective. We are your voice and we will advocate on your behalf,” he said.
Green, who holds responsibility for the Youth portfolio of the Ministry, further commended the staff for their hard work.
“We believe in the welfare of our staff and we know that you who provide an essential service have a very difficult job,” he added, while hailing the management for hosting the meeting, which focused on health and well-being, and included a range of free health checks and wellness services.
The State Minister said he has met with the management of the agency and will be working “to ensure that we continue with the bold work that you have been doing.”
