Lennon High, Excelsior to face off in schoolgirl football final
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Defending champions Lennon High and Excelsior will meet in a repeat of last year’s Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) schoolgirl football final, after registering contrasting victories in their respective semi-finals on Tuesday.
Lennon High defeated first-time semi-finalists Denham Town 4-1 on penalty, after playing out a 1-1 score line in full and extra time.
Last year’s beaten finalists, Excelsior, clipped former champions St Jago 1-0 courtesy of a 70th-minute strike by National Under-17 midfielder Tarania Clarke in the feature game of the double-header at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.
The final is scheduled for Friday at the same venue.
