Students involved in deadly after-school dispute in St Mary
ST MARY, Jamaica – While making his way home from school on Monday, 16-year-old Rushane Murray was involved in a dispute with another student on the Oracabessa main road in St Mary.
The dispute took a turn for the worse and instead of getting to his intended destination, Rushane was pronounced dead at hospital.
The police report that Rushane, who is from Herbert Swaby Avenue, Tower Isle in the parish, was on his way home from school about 5:30 pm when a dispute developed between him and the other student.
The police say the dispute became physical and a knife was brought into play, which resulted in Rushane being stabbed.
He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Two students have since been taken into custody, the police say.
Investigations are ongoing.
