SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland  — Nichole Graham, the mother of three- month-old Orando Brown, is singing praises for the staff of the Savann-la-Mar Public General Hospital and the Issa Trust Foundation for saving the life of her son.

“I had some challenging times with him [Orando] in the hospital, because he was actually admitted from he was born with severe problems. We thought that he would not have made it, but thanks be to God, the ventilator was there for the doctors to put him on. And I thank the Savanna-la-Mar paediatric doctors … and all the other nurses that took care of Orlando,” expressed Graham.

Orando, who had brain damage, low blood count and respiratory failure at birth, was the first patient to benefit from equipment donated recently to the hospital’s Special Care Nursery for newborns at a cost of $24 million by the Issa Foundation.

He spent almost five weeks at the medical facility before he was released into the care of his mother.
