KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamalco FC of Clarendon have created history qualifying for the Red Stripe Premier League after clipping Brazil FC of St Ann 1-0 today at the Wembley Centre of Excellence.

The club, which was formed some six years ago, won their fourth consecutive match in the Jamaica Football Federation’s Charley’s JB Rum playoff and reached an unassailable 12 points.

Andrew Isaacs netted the winner in the 10th minute as Jamalco for the fourth time, won by a single goal margin.

They defeated Brazil 1-0 in the first round; edged Granville United 1-0 and clipped Maverley/Hughenden 1-0.

Brazil, which lost 0-1, slipped to third spot in the four-team group with four points and was overtaken by Maverley/Hughenden, which edged Granville 1-0 and jumped into second spot on seven points. Paul Stewart scored for Maverley in the 75th minute.

With one qualification spot up for grabs, it’s now down to Maverley and Brazil to fight for that spot and both teams will clash on Sunday in a massive game at Drax Hall.
