Dacres finishes 4th in Rome Diamond League discus
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Fedrick Dacres finished fourth in the men’s discus at the IAAF Diamond League at the Rome Golden Gala meet with a throw of 63.50m.
Dacres, who entered the event with a seasonal best of 68.02m, achieved the mark of 63.50m on his second attempt.
Robert Urbanek of Poland won the event with 65.00m ahead of Victor Hogan of South Africa with 64.03m. Germany’s Olympic champion Robert Harting was third with 63.96m.
Piotr Malachowski of Poland who won the first two Diamond League discus events, finished sixth with 63.25m. He still leads the standing with 21 points, just two ahead of his countryman Urbanek on 19 points.
Hogan is third with 10 points while Dacres is eighth with three points after three Diamond League events.
