Swaby selected as guest speaker for IDB summit
Chief Executive Officer of EduFocal, Gordon Swaby is select guest speaker for the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit in the United States later this month.
Swaby, founder of the social learning website for grade six achievement test students in Jamaica and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate students within the Caribbean, has been invited by the U S Small Business Administration, the Blum Center and the Inter-American Development Bank to speak on ‘Demand Solutions: Showcasing Latin America and the Caribbean Innovation and Entrepreneurship that Improves Lives,’ at the Stanford University, California on June 22.
The event is set to bring together some of the most innovative start-ups from Latin America and the Caribbean, policymakers and ecosystem builders who will share their stories, challenges and achievements.
EduFocal, an interactive user-friendly, online learning environment — which employs gamification to present test materials to students on the service — entered into a partnership with the Jamaica Observer in 2012.
The partnership offered free access to the service through the purchase of a Sunday Observer and assisted in the expansion of EduFocal’s content base to offer not only questions and answers for subjects, but reading content material from the Observer’s Study Centre publication.
