MoBay airport to verify cash leaving Jamaica
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The Ministry of National Security will be hosting a ceremony at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, to officially hand over a room established and dedicated to verify cash going out of the country.
This, the ministry said in an advisory Tuesday, is part of their attempts to combat organised criminal activity by strengthening the local anti-money laundering efforts.
The ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 am on Wednesday.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Karen-Clarke Davis, as well as Commissioner of Customs, Major Richard Reese, are expected to speak at the ceremony.
