MONTEGO BAY, St James — The St James Cricket Association’s season will get underway on Sunday with the six-a-side competition, set to start at 10:00am, and will be followed next week with the start of the 50-overs competition.

Both competitions will be sponsored by Member of Parliament for Central St James Heroy Clarke, St James Cricket Association president Cecil Fletcher told the Jamaica Observer West this week.

The curtain-raising six-a-side, as well as the 50-overs games will be played at Barnett Oval which has undergone some refurbishing.

The teams that are down to take part in the six-a-side on Sunday are Arcadia, Police, Bogue, Farm Heights, Rose Heights, Cambridge, Green Pond, and Hanover.

The 50-overs competition which has been called a Test series will see two teams from St James and one each from Hanover and Trelawny playing against each other to August 14, after which the two tops teams on points will meet in the finals on August 21.
