TRACKS featuring Sean Paul and Nyla, as well as samples by Canadian rappers Drake and Tory Lanez and American girl group Fifth Harmony, are currently fuelling the Jamaican presence on Billboard’s mainstream charts.

Drake’s single Controlla, which features a Beenie Man sample, rises to number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is currently number six on the Hot R&B Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Too Good by Drake, featuring Rihanna — which has a sample from dancehall artiste Popcaan — moves to number 27 on the Hot 100 and falls to number seven on Hot R&B Hip-Hop Songs.

Lanez, whose mother is from Curacao and father is Bajan, rises to number two on Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B Hip-Hop singles chart. His single, Luv, samples Tanto Metro and Devonte’s 1998 hit, Everyone Falls in Love.

In the meantime, Sean Paul scores his first top-six hit in 10 years on the Hot 100, featured on Sia’s

Cheap Thrills. The single is currently at number six.

Mad Cobra’s Flex is sampled in Fifth Harmony’s All In My Head, which debuts at number 78 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Major Lazer’s Light It Up, featuring singer Nyla — formerly of Brick and Lace — falls to number 82 on the Hot 100.

On Billboard’s Reggae Album’s chart, California reggae band Rebelution holds down the number one spot for a third week with Falling Into Place while Ziggy Marley’s self-titled album rises to number two.

Last week’s number two debut, King of the Dancehall by Vybz Kartel falls to number four.

New at number five is the compilation set Reggae Sun Jammin, while at number six is another new entry, Quantic Presenta Flowering Inferno.

Alkaline’s former chart topper, New Level Unlocked, tumbles to number 10.
