#NatlTrials: Christoff Bryan equals PB in men’s high jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Christoff Bryan equalled his personal best leap of 2.25 metres to claim the national crown in the men’s high jump on day three of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA)/ Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) National Senior Championships at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Bryan of Kansas State started out smoothly, clearing 2.10m on his first attempt and later cleared 2.15m on his second attempt, but made heavy weather of 2.20m and 2.25m, respectively. He eventually cleared both on the final attempt.
However, the 2013 World Youth bronze medallist failed on all three attempts to get over the qualifying standard of 2.29m. He won ahead of Matthew Campbell, who cleared 2.05m, as well as Jordan-Kobe Rhooms and Lushane Wilson.
