Flex Weekend ready to rumble
KINGSTON and Portmore, St Catherine, are set to come alive for Independence Week celebrations with Aspire Flex Weekend, Dancehall Festival. The five-day event is slated to for July 28 to August 1.
Andrew ‘French’ Wright, promoter of Flex Weekend, said things are shaping up nicely for the event.
“Season tickets are now sold out. Anticipation for the series is on another level this year, following our very successful recent staging. Flex Weekend is a true celebration of our culture during this festive period and persons locally and internationally are looking forward to experiencing this festival in the captial city with these signature, 5 premium events. Each event on Flex Weekend is unique; There’s an event on Flex Weekend for everyone,” Wright told the Jamaica Observer.
“The highlight of Flex Weekend is definitely the people,” he continued.
Flex Weekend starts with Club Manhattan at Fiction Night Club on Thursday, July 28; Luc Belaire Supreme at The Palms on Friday, July 29; Jitterbug, Best of the 90s at St Lucia Car Park, New Kingston, on Saturday, July 30; Supreme Beach at Palisadoes Harbour Beach Park, on Sunday, July 31. The event concludes with Chug It on Monday, August 1, at Sugarman Beach in Portmore, St Catherine, with performances by dancehall acts Aidonia and Tifa.
