Singer ‘Sixy’ Morris debuts his Sunrise
Sunrise, the debut album from singer Rohan ‘Sixy’ Morris, was released released last week by Zojak World Wide.
It contains the title song, originally done by British group Simply Red in 2003. Sixy co-produced his version with Abidan Campbell.
The son of ska great Eric ‘Monty’ Morris, Sixy is pleased with Sunrise (the album) which he describes as a ‘collector’s item’.
Three songs have been released from it to date: Sunrise, Hold Each Other and Ugly Days.
Another cover is Problems, first done by Monty Morris in the 1960s.
Sixy Morris has been recording since his teens and entered the 1982 Tastee Talent Contest. At one stage, he was a member of Beres Hammond’s Harmony House camp.
Production on Sunrise started two years ago with musicians including drummer Luewin Thomas, guitarist Nyerere Thomas, bassist Enrico Nembard and keyboardist Andre Dennis.
